Direct Heat Dryers

The Louisville® Direct Heat Dryer is an excellent choice for high temperature drying of bulky and fibrous materials which resist sweeping into the hot gas stream. Hot gases flowing through and around the material provide an economical drying source. These dryers offer their greatest efficiency and are most economically sized when maximum permissible air stream velocities are employed. This rotary dryer series includes the Louisville Counterflow Rotary Dryer which introduces hot gases at one end and the materials to be dried at the other.

Other types are the Type H and Type P dryers. The Louisville Type H Dryer is designed for flash drying and can be ideal for drying bulky materials such as agricultural products of fibrous material. It is a parallel flow unit. The Type P Dryer was originally designed for polyvinyl chloride handling. In both the Type H and Type P dryers, materials to be dried are introduced at the same end of the drum as hot gases.
